With summer
holidays finally here, I have put the finishing touches to my
newest painting, “One Drop” (53 cm x 157 cm).

Unlike the others
in the series, the focus in this artwork is one stone and only
one!
During the course
of working on this piece, Japan’s earthquake/tsunami took place;
to a small degree, this painting was also influenced by those
events.
I must admit, it
was quite difficult to not add more stones as I worked through
this, but I stayed the course and in the end I’m quite pleased
with the result.
My only travel
plans this summer are in my own mind (alas!). Time to recharge my
batteries and enjoy living the life of the Artist.
Upcoming is a group
show entitled “Prelude”, with the Studio Tour artists on
September 7th to October 1st at the Owen
Sound Artists’ Co-op. The opening reception will be held on
September 9th, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Co-op: 279 10th
St. East, Owen Sound.
This will be
followed by the Studio Tour on Thanksgiving weekend, October 8th
and 9th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
